DRESS ME BLUE / WINDOW ME SKY
(with Katie Pearl)
First performed in a vacant, odd-shaped boutique in Austin, Texas, this performance tour invites audiences into the mysterious and fragile world of “the blue dress lady”, a house filled with optical illusions, mechanical birds, and remnants of a long lost sister.
D'Amour's lyrical language, her solicitous manner, and her and Pearl's simple yet effective theatricality took us inside another person's loss, made it visible, in one of the most deeply affecting works of [FronteraFest].
– Robert Faires, The Austin Chronicle.
Performed by Lisa D'Amour, 3 other female performers needed.
First Performed at FronteraFest, Austin Texas, January 1997.
Also performed at the Argyle Zebra Gallery, St. Paul, MN, September 1998. Dress Me Blue will be re-imagined for a new space as part of the WORD OF MOUTH festival at the World Financial Center in May
