SLABBER
(with Katie Pearl)
In a hidden-away space somewhere in your city, a mysteriously ill woman searches for the source of her condition by telling you a story about soap, filth and an unclean little girl.
This itinerant performance is most often performed in a different location each night of the performance. A pre-show experiment leads the audience to the performance location; this experiment changes according to the city the show is performed in.
First performed at FronteraFest, Austin, TX, January 2000.
Re-imaged for sites in New York City, Providence, RI (Brown University), Chicago, IL (Women in Professional Theater Conference) and New Orleans, LA (Dramarama Festival, Contemporary Arts Center).
Performed by Lisa D'Amour, one additional male performer needed.
Excerpts of SLABBER are published in
Play A Journal of Plays (3rd issue).
